| Municipal Light & Power Plant, 1223 Main Street . Built in 1937 L By the mid 1930's Delta's population exceeded 3,000 and the need for additional electric supply became increasingly apparent. The Municipal Light & Power system of the City of Delta was established in 1935. By 1938 three small Fairbanks - Morse diesel generators had been installed |

| and between 1939 and 1956 four additional engine generator units of greater output were installed. As the population grew, the City found the need to purchase additional electricity from neighboring utilities and in 1967 the substation behind the plant was built. All of the generators are still equipped with original Woodwind governors. The generators still operate and are tested regularly to provide back-up power in the event of an emergency. | ||||||||||
| Tru-Vu Drive In, 1001 Highway 92, Opened in 1954. L/S Currently open mid-May through mid-September. Max Story, the original owner, builder and operator of the Tru-Vu designed the screen to produce a "deeper" picture for the audience. The 86' by 60' corrugated steel screen was custom fabricated in Montrose. This screen was tilted so that the projection beam |

| would angle back down at the cars, enabling all to see the picture more easily. By 1998, only 12 operating drive-ins remained in Colorado. This still operating theater retains much of it's original construction and provides a disappearing and unique entertainment experience. | ||||||||||
| The Fairlamb House, 700 Leon Street Built in 1906. L/S Currently a Bed & Breakfast. This house was builty by Millard Fairlamb, attorney and notable figure in Delta and Colorado history, for his wife Stella. This architecture represents a classsical example of Foursquare with its square plan and overall simplicity. It is constructed of brick from Delta Brick |

| and Tile which fired its last brick in 1958. Examples of precision craftsmanship are present throughout the house including the red oak floors in the cloakroom and foyer which are inlaid with two different patterns consisting of three types of hardwoods. This fine home is currently open to the public as a Bed & Breakfast. | ||||||||||
| Garnethurst, 509 Leon Street Built in 1896. L/S/N Currently a private residence. Garnethurst was constructed for Alfred Rufus King, a prominent man in Delta's early politics. In 1883, one year after the town was platted, King was appointed county attorney and later elected county judge. He also served as town mayor. A 1896 newspaper article noted that he moved into his "elegant new residence" on Garnet Mesa. The King family lived in the house until 1911 when King was appointed to the newly formed Court of Appeals in Denver. The house served as Delta's first hospital from 1915-1922, |

| when it again became a private residence. Built in 1896, Garnethurst is the largest and one of the most ornate Queen Anne homes in Delta. The well preserved, two-story, clapboard residence with its steeply pitched roof and wrap-around pprch has fishscale shingle, decorative vergeboards and ornate gable trim. | ||||||||||
